Pesto Caprese Pizza

Jan 28th
Ok I told you pesto recipes were on the horizon.
The other night I made a pesto caprese pizza.
I have been wanting to do this for weeks and finally got the time.
If you have never made a homemade pizza I recommend.
It is soooo much fun! And really turns out delicious!
Here is what you need: one tomato, fresh basil,
fresh burrata cheese, package wheat dough (Trader Joe’s has good ones),
1/4 red onion sliced, and little cup of olive oil with oregano.

Step one is to get your dough ready!!
If you have a pizza stone awesome, but a baking sheet will do.
Flour, flour, and really flour the surface!
Shape into a circle, or as close to one as you can.
Once your dough is shaped, time to spread the pesto.
I don’t recommend using too much, maybe 1/4-1/2 cup.
After I made this I wish I didn’t use so much.
Pesto has a very strong flavor to it!
Slice and put some pieces of tomato on top of the pesto.

Cut up and throw your cheese on there too!
Starting to look yummy!?!?

Add a couple slices of red onion and fresh basil pieces.
If you want, sprinkle some salt and pepper over.
Doesn’t hurt!?!?

Final step is to brush some olive oil with oregano on the crust.
This add a whole extra flavor to the crust.
You can sprinkle a little salt on the crust too if you’d like.

Bake at 400 degrees for about 10-12 minutes.
You will know when done when cheese melted and crust browned.
