In The Kitchen: Popeye’s Smoothie

The past couple weeks during my pregnancy have been a little rough. I’ve been struggling finding foods that I can keep down that have some nutritious value as well. One key to my mornings has been this smoothie that I have been making. It’s packed with fruits and spinach….yep, spinach! (hence my name Popeye’s Smoothie) I was skeptical to try this as quite frankly it sounded disgusting. I was pleasantly surprised that this smoothie is beyond delicious. Sweet, but not too sweet, plus it fills me up! I’m able to get an abundance of nutrients without feeling too heavy. Have you ever made one like this?


1 peach cut into chunks

1 banana sliced

1 cup spinach

4-5 strawberries

1/2 cup blueberries

1 tablespoon greek yogurt

1 teaspoon honey

splash almond milk

splash water

1/2 cup crushed ice

Throw everything into a blender and serve!

Makes enough for two large smoothies.
