One of my favorite foods is apples. Whether in salad, on their own or in a martini I could have them all day long! On a recent trip to Costco…wait we need to talk. What is it with people at Costco? Oh my goodness! And then add in the holidays? It’s like everyone is a grinch on crack there. Borderline dangerous if you ask me. Back to apples….I happened to have a few extra laying around and decided to get crafty. Every year my sister-in-law makes baked apple chips with her dehydrated. Oh man, they are addicting. Well I was craving some and didn’t have a dehydrated nor apple corer. I decided to slice some apples, take out the center, make a cinnamon sugar, bake and voila! They were actually pretty good. Here’s some simple steps. They looked great on an appetizer platter I made (see here).
You need a couple apple, sugar and cinnamon.
Slice your apples as thin as you can make them.
Take out the middle with a knife. A corer would be fabulous!
Throw some cinnamon in a bowl of granulated sugar.
Spray a pan so they don’t stick. Sprinkle the sugar on the pan then place the apples.
Sprinkle some more sugar on top. Bake for about 2 hours at 275. Flip at the hour.
