Yes it is Friday night and there are football games, but for those not wanting to sit in the cold for a game of pigskin I have another idea for you! Ice Skating!!! Yep that’s right!! The holidays have returned and so has the ice rink at The Lakes in Thousand Oaks. (a little fun trivia fact….my mom created this event years ago and I remember helping work the first season!) CLICK HERE to view the hours and more information! Due to previous surgeries I haven’t been able to go in a couple years but I am super excited!!! Though I am one of those skaters that clings to the wall and should have a pillow fastened to my behind! I always wake up sore….like I was hit by a bus which leads me to have complete skater’s envy for all those people who can do flips and spins!
And while at The Lakes, may I make a couple recommendations for dining. We recently ate at Claim Jumper. If you sit in the bar the happy hour is all day where they have lots of different appetizers from $2-$6. We ordered a couple of these instead of meals (ok by a couple I mean about 6) and it was great! You are able to get a lot of food here for a great price on the wallet. Or you can go to PF Changs where the portions are sharing friendly. Can’t go wrong with Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Orange Peel Chicken right?
Not wanting a full meal? You can grab a cup of joe at Coffee Bean or some frozen yogurt at Blizz. Or if you are willing to splurge a little bit at Sabor, the new Mexican place, you can grab some margaritas with chips and salsa. Their menu is a little pricey for Mexican food, but overall good.
