In The Kitchen: Homemade Peppermint Bark

Dec 5th

One of my absolute favorite things about the holidays is peppermint. Peppermint mochas, ice cream and of course peppermint bark. In the middle of November I always get excited when Costco starts carrying the giant tubs of it. Well, this year to be economically friendly I am making a lot of Christmas gifts. I thought, “why not include one of my favorite treats?” Homemade peppermint bark is quite possibly one of the easiest things I have ever made. This is great because I can make a lot at a low cost, but also bad because I can make it whenever and then sit by the fire and watch movies while devouring. Dang it. I plan on adding some peppermint bark to my little treats tins I am putting together this week. Have you ever made it before?

All you need is 2 bags of white chocolate chips, 12 crushed candy canes and 1/2 tsp peppermint extract.

In a pan on low heat melt your chocolate chips.

Crush your candy canes…I put mine in a bag so they wouldn’t get all over.

When the chocolate is melted add in your peppermint extra and crushed candy canes.

Spread onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Place in refrigerator to harden.

Once harden, break into pieces!!!
