Passport Diaries: Lake Arrowhead

Dec 5th

Sometimes you just need to take a break and head out of town. This past weekend unexpectedly opened up for us and we bolted at the chance of being able to escape up to the beautiful mountains of Lake Arrowhead. Only two hours away, the quaint town was the perfect recipes for my holiday season cravings. The weather was chilly and rainy, though we got a couple hours of golden sunlight to enjoy a brisk morning walk. Our time was spent taking naps (well me), sitting by the lodge’s fireplace¬†and getting some much needed work done.

The last time we were in Lake Arrowhead was a couple years ago celebrating a cousin’s wedding. Fun fact? Our room looked out right where they got married so we thought of them all weekend! The town couldn’t be more picture perfect with garland, lights, Christmas trees and holiday music playing throughout the village. I sipped on hot chocolate every moment I could and definitely indulged in some treats. Why not?

I think we’ve found a yearly tradition but I’ll ask Santa maybe for some snow next year! Any little getaways on your agenda for the holidays?
